(E)EK

As I was perusing the pages of various magazines, I came upon a lovely designer/design house. The name: Eley Kishimoto, comprised of Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto. They design things with patterns, to be brief, and have designed patterns for many a famous designer. They are based in London. Have a look for yourself:

You can see more on their website, here.

Wanted.

This little gem is a dream come true:

It's a combination Holga and Polaroid. And it's only $175. Err...I'll take back the 'only' part. I would sell $175 worth of clothing to get this camera. If my clothing is even worth that much. Which I highly doubt, considering most of it is thrifted. Time to sell that $98 Anthropologie dress which was worn twice.

But if those plans at gaining income fail, well, I suppose it's back to babysitting for $10/hour. Thats...17.5 hours of babysitting (the good thing about blogging is that you don't get to see how long it took me to figure out that amount).

Irana Douer

Whilst perusing the many blogs and whatnot that I keep track of on the interwebs, I came across this lovely artist,
Irana Douer. This is my favourite sort of artwork. It's a bit reminicent of the Decemberists' crane wife artwork. Or maybe it's just fantastic in it's own right. Or both.

Sigh no more, ladies...

...sigh no more. Men were deceivers ever. One foot in sea, and one on shore. To one thing constant never. But sigh not so, and let them go. And be you blithe and bonny. Converting all your sounds of woe into 'Hey nonny nonny'.

Recently watched Kenneth Branagh's version of Much Ado About Nothing. It's fantastic. The cast is amazing. I was particularly enamoured with a young Robert Sean Leonard (of House fame). Boy is he handsome. Plus Emma Thompson is great, as usual, as is Kenneth Branagh and Denzel Washington. Wasn't a big fan of Keanu Reaves' performance, but it was effective, although not much more than that.

That being said, go watch that film. Really, do.

it's been a long time...

I gotta say, the initial excitement of having a blog kinda wears off after a while, and then you get lazy, especially without people to prod and pester you to write things. Ah well. Summer has come, and I'm kinda proud of myself for calling those brogue-type shoes before they showed up in all these magazines. Actually it was more of "I'm gonna get some of these even if they don't become popular".

I just bought two new CDs and got 3 large songbooks out of the library:

Regina Spektor's Far

Cage The Elephant's self-titled debut album

And then I got these out of the library because I can't afford to buy them, but I really want to...

I'm excited to look through these. And hopefully be able to buy them at some point.

In other news, have people heard of
this? It's going to be epic.

Well, that's all for now.

Give yourself to love...

...if love is what you're after. Open up your heart to the tears and laughter.

It's been a while. Didn't you miss me? Wow, that was a narcissistic thing to say. Please pay no attention to that. Ok. Anyways, let me begin.

Item 1:
School. it's over. really, truly over. for this year, of course. My goodness how fast this year went by. I still don't feel like school is actually out. It's surreal.

Item 2:
Well, more like items. I do believe it's time for a fashion blog.

Forever 21

Dorothy Perkins

Marc by Marc Jacobs

That's my fashion round up for this week. Has anyone else noticed how much I'm in love with flowers? Because it's starting to dawn on me...hmmm...
